The first day prototyping Living Symphonies takes the form of one extended entrance: the journey to the forest, and the arrival of the generator, trailer, installation team, and consolidation of the many parts that make up the installation.
We are using an Ifor Williams 12ft box trailer to host the equipment, which will be acting as our studio and office for the next week.
- Keys to the forest
- RAV4 and Ifor Williams trailer
- Dave guiding us in, ably driven by Vern
- Speaker positioning and cable run map
- Just a small amount of the speaker cabling
- Dave and Matt installing the work
- Dave Charlesworth, Site Manager
- Matt, volunteer from Outpost Arts
- Andy with the almost silent generator
The immediate job is the most daunting and arduous: installing and hiding the 2km+ of speaker cable that connects the amplifiers to the array of 20 speakers embedded within the forest site.
Thanks to Andy at MIDAS with his generous support with the generator and power setup.
