Cable Census

Today is cable census day: the day in which we catalogue, cut, waterproof, test and group the 2.8km of cable that constitutes the hidden audio infrastructure of Living Symphonies. It’s an arduous process in which we repetitively commune with Speakon connectors, masking tape and cable ties, ending up with a carefully-catalogued system of cabling that we can quickly roll out over the forest.

Our undying gratitude lies with technical oracle Simon Wheeler (below), who is lending his expertise and endless stamina to the process. Simon today came accompanied a case of silicone sealant, administered to each cable to protect them from months spent in the damp outdoors.
